Uganda Private and integrated schools association
Uganda Private and Integrated Schools Association (UPISA) is a private Association that was founded in 1994 through the initiative of two religious congregations, the Brothers of Christian Instruction of Kisubi and the Daughters of Mary (the Bannabikira Sisters) of Bwanda together with Terre Seres Frontiers (TSF) their Canadian NGO partners based in Canada.
The two congregations and Terre Sans Frontiers after conceiving the dream, sold it to various members of the Board of Governors (BOGs) and Parents and Teachers Associations (PTAs) of the founding members schools that first formed the Association and they include;
i). St Charles Lwanga S.S Kasasa.
ii). St. Charles Lwanga S.S Mubende.
iii). St. Henry’s S.S Buyege
iv). St. Theresa S.S. Bwanda.
v). Rubaga Girls S.S. School.
vi). Caltec Academy Makerere.
vii). Mary Reparatrix S.S. Bugonga.
viii). Uganda Martrys High School Lubaga.
Now membership includes two other schools
xi). St. Joseph’s College Namagunga and
x). St. Joseph S.S. Kigando.
The Association was inaugurated in 1996 and it is registered and fully operational.
Mission:
The Mission of the Association lies in availing an environment conducive to achieving and sustaining quality education in member schools.
The motto: “Quality in Partnership”
The Aims of the Association.
UPISA was conceived as a way of improving the living, material and teaching conditions in the eight private secondary schools founded by the Brothers of Christian Instruction and the Bannabikira Sisters (Daughters of Mary). The Association is to establish ways and means of acquiring and exchanging common services in order to improve the quality of education in member schools network and reinforce their institutional capabilities.
Objectives:
The objectives of the Association are:
- Development, promotion and improvement of quality of education.
- Reinforcement of individual organization capacity in member schools
- Establishing and sustainability of structures that encourage networking, self-help and exchange of competitive and
- Taking easy positive means possible for the attainment of these objectives.

f). Any co-opted by General Assembly for Technical expertise.
