How B.C.I came to East Africa, Uganda

The BCI in Africa, the rest of the world and in Uganda.
The Brothers of Christian Instruction came to Uganda at the invitation of the White fathers, who were responsible for the Uganda Vicariate, in 1926. They settled at Kisubi near Entebbe, where they have their provincial Headquarters – hence the popular name in Uganda of “the Kisubi Brothers”
Their first establishment was St. Mary’s College, Kisubi. From there they spread to the neighbouring areas in Uganda as well as Bukoba and Mwaza in Tanzania, Kisumu in Kenya and Seychelles, in the Indian Ocean.Currently, the international community of the Brothers of Christian Instruction is found in France, Italy, Spain, England, and United States, Canada, Argentine, Uruguay, Chile, Haiti, Japan, Tahiti, Marquise Islands and Indonesia.
In Africa, they are in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Togo and Guinea.
